Michael Vaughn is a recent transplant from Atlanta, Georgia and has worked professionally in all aspects of the theatre. He has starred in four national tours including performances in Canada and Mexico with The American Theatre Company. Prior to touring for three years, Michael completed a four-month run of Phantom at The Broadway Palm Theater in Fort Myers, Florida. Before leaving Atlanta, he appeared in many productions such as The King and I, Lil' Abner, The Fantasticks, Annie, The Odd Couple, Guys and Dolls, The Boys Next Door and many more. Other productions include ballets such as The Nut Cracker, Alice in Wonderland and Romeo and Juliet with The Atlanta Ballet Company. Moving off stage to behind the scenes, Michael has acted as director for several productions including Oliver, and School House Rock, Live!, for the Clayton Alliance for Summer Theater. Two highly acclaimed productions that he directed were Fiddler on the Roof and Footloose. From 1999 to 2002, Michael wrote, directed and co-produced the annual Atlanta Gospel Music Choice Awards. In 2002, the annual awards show had grown to national recognition and was televised on CNBC. From 2003 – 2008, he worked in the theme park industry for Herschend Family Entertainment as actor, writer, director and producer, at Stone Mountain Park located just outside of Atlanta. Finding time to give back to the community as well as sharing his passion for live theater, Michael teaches students of all ages, in classrooms as well as privately. In 2002, Michael formed his own non-profit production company, Vaughn Productions, Inc. in Atlanta and produced cabarets that showcased the many talents that were hidden away in the local community.
